Our weekend....

The weekend before last Lolly spent the weekend with my parents so Mike and I could spend a weekend, just us. We are married 9 years on the 10th of June and we wanted to celebrate.
We had a nice early night on Friday night and on Saturday morning we stayed in bed till close to noon... lying in bed with coffee at 10am, a quiet house.... it was a lovely morning!
We also managed to catch a movie...
AND we went to our favorite Indian restaurant for dinner on Saturday night - a place we celebrated our 3rd anniversary too!
I will be honest, it was much harder to leave Oliver than I initially thought! By Saturday night I wanted to fetch him but Mike said nope and I was glad we didn't - he got to spend some quality time with his Papa and Che Che and I got to spend some quality time with Mike!

This weekend we got to play catch up with some friends who live in Singapore...
Talia, Sam and Lolly got along so well, they played so nicely!

 Hows this model pose...

We had a lovely afternoon of pizza and playing in the garden...

A bit of this... a bit of that...

Here are just a few randoms from our last few weeks...
Alan made fresh salted pretzels and delivered them to our door for breakfast one Sunday - what a treat!
 Lolly working with his Papa...
One morning while eating his breakfast Lolly grabbed teddy and started feeding him too... he was also making all the faces and noises I seem to make while feeding Lolly, he cracked me up!
Mike spoilt me with a home mag out of the blue.... home inspiration is never a bad thing!
Some Saturdays are meant for pajamas, messy hair and a bit of playtime on the Ipad.
... some Saturdays are also meant for some Maya The Bee watching in the camp cot.
Its only Wednesday today but it honestly feels like it should be Friday - FRIDAY COME QUICK PLEASE!

Play time...

Now you see him...
Now you don't....
I had to DRAG him out of his tent at bedtime.... he lay down and said he wants to sleep in there..... so soon we will be camping out on the patio!

A little treasure...

Lolly has been asking for sun glasses for awhile now, when he sees me wearing mine and is squinting into the sun he says "syn-gosses peez mommy". We found some for him, he got to choose the colour and he LOVES them.... all for a whole R10.

I love the joy of getting him something he really treasures, he grinned all the way home!

Friday outing...

On Friday, due to load shedding, I managed to get away from work early and fetch Lolly for a play date at wimpy. Its the best time as there are never any other kids there and I can sneak onto the play equipment, go right to the top and we can slide down the nice slide together. The squeals of joy from Lolly is priceless! We shared a little breakfast - Lolly ate the chips and toast and I had the bacon and egg.... and as always a coffee for mommy and ice water for Lolly.

I love this kid. To bits.

Our long weekend.

Tuesday was a holiday so Mike and I took Monday off making it a nice long weekend! We used this time to start potty training our little monster and I am proud to say he did SO well....  as we were potty training we didn't really leave home at all which meant lots of playtime at home as well as a huge spring of our bedroom cupboards, spare room (we can see the floor and bed again - score), laundry and garage! I feel lighter with it all clean...
I made us brunch each morning which was so lovely, we ate outside in the sunshine....
4 full days at home with no distractions of needing to go out and make plans or fill our day with anything other than family time was lovely. We managed to get so much done as well as spend as much attention as needed on Lolly to start his potty training. After the first day and many accidents I honestly felt that Lolly wasn't near ready... I was ready to give up and try in a few weeks BUT he woke up the next day and even with his nappy on he asked to go for a wee... I ignored him initially and said "no matter, just wee wee in your nappy" but he kept insisting and believe it or not he had a wee on the loo. And then again and again.... with only one little accident all day and again the next day and the next. Something clicked in his little mind and he is doing so so well! I am one proud momma... and man oh man his little undies are the cutest little things I have ever seen! Love his little bum in them :)

Time...

I find it hard to make time for just Mike and I since Lolly was born.... we are finding our rhythm and mornings work well for little dates before work from time to time. Close to work is a lovely little cafe that open early so we can have a breakfast together and still be at work on time.

On the 10/06/2015 mike and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary.... we feel like we have spent a lifetime together and so look forward to witnessing the lifetimes of our children from the front lines. I honestly and wholeheartedly would not want to journey life with anyone else!!!

Saturday...

For whatever reason our child omitted his Saturday afternoon sleep, he fell asleep in the car for 7 minutes and when we tried to put him to sleep he was wide awake!
So instead of the sleep we were all hoping for (especially me!) we decided an ice-cream date was in order...

I enjoyed my ice-cream nearly as much as my would have my nap...

Dinner...

Last night was our first dinner outing with Lolly since forever really... I am a huge fan of routine so seeing as Lolly's bedtime is 6pm we never do dinner out... we will go to my moms for dinner or sometimes other people but then put Lolly down in his camp cot but never to a restaurant.
We got to spur at 5pm (like the oldies do) and really enjoyed a dinner out with my dad seeing as my mom is in Cape Town at the moment. This little one enjoyed his cheese sandwich and lots of playtime... he was a little star!! I struggle to deviate from our weekly routine BUT after last night I see that there are occasions that this can happen and my little boy just LOVED the playtime and the time with his Pappa!
This also just made me realize that our boy is getting bigger..... a tough pill to swallow but its happening and I cannot be prouder of him!

Monday night braai...

On Monday night Mike did dinner for us, I was craving a nice braai and it was delicious!
I love spontaneous dinners with my boys!!

"Mommy sun glasses"

My little Lolly bean is getting so big, he asked to wear my sun glasses they other day.... he said "mommy's sun glasses please" (but said like "mommy sun goses peez")

I asked if I can buy him his own pair and what colour he would like and he asked for blue.... aaaaah! When did he get big enough to choose a colour.... when???

Soph's first birthday party...

Soph turns 1 on Wednesday already..... where as the time gone? Debs organised a beautiful party...

We enjoyed some sunshine....
Debs went to so much trouble and made a tactile station for the babies... coloured rice and spagetti / fruit / eggs / marshmallows... the babies LOVED it!!
Lolly got in on the action and played with everything presented!
He also had a lovely naked swim in the jucuzzi...

Oliver went to bed last night talking to himself and I just kept hearing "hello Sophie" over and over again.... I think he really enjoyed Soph's company!!
