Preggy workshop!

On Saturday morning we went to a preggy workshop.... we didnt really learn alot - it seemed to be aimed at the ladies who hadnt done antenatal, hadnt booked their beds and didnt know much where as we kind of know all the big stuff so it was fun but not very informative! We did get a goodie bag with baby samples which is awesome.... it was jam packed....

 and we got to see some of our antenatal buddies again which was so lovely!!!

Its like we've entered this special little club being preggies..... its awesome!!!

Love is a magnum on a HOT evening when I just felt like an ice-cream!!!

31 weeks!!!

31 weeks!!  I went for a check up on friday and everything is perfect! Baby is in the perfect position for natural birth so lets pray baby stays in the same position! Baby is growing as it should.... now we just wait :)

We are too exciting and CANNOT wait to meet baby!!!

Exciting and inviting :)

Its coming to that time when we started inviting peeps to our baby shower!! TOOO EXCITING!! I didn't want it to be a surprise, I'm not a huge fan of surprises UNLESS its just Mike and me and hes the one doing the suprises... so I know the time and date and a few little details but that is all.... Precious friends have taken it upon themselves to plan and do this for us and it humbles my heart so much!!
Mike designed the invites and this man knows me too well - it was perfect from day 1 - no changes needed!!

While I made the popcorn to put in the bags....

I love brown paper bags, i would use then for everything if i had a choice!!!

I packed them in my little basket for an easy way to hand them out....  I have about half left to hand out and we're done - then all is left is to wait for the special day to celebrate the coming of our precious bean!!

 I CANNOT believe it is baby shower time already - my goodness!!!

A little bit of comfort!

On Monday night i felt like a little bit of comfort.... something yummy and filling and delicious! I don't normally work from recipes (unless i am baking) and normally just shove stuff together and it normally works!! So this is the outcome of my comfort craving!!

 A grilled chicken schnitzel....

 I added some mushrooms cooked in garlic...

 I then added a little bit of lemon mayo (low fat mayo with a little bit of lemon juice and ground pepper)...

AND to top of off some little fried potato pieces!!

 And believe me it didn't disappoint! It was amazing..... mike causally mentioned this has to become a weekly tradition :)

Stocking up....

Pay day comes (and goes way too quickly :) and we find ourselves stocking up on the things ALL parents say we will never have enough of!!! We have been collecting nappies and wet wipes for a couple of months to save us money later on..... spend now, feel like we're not spending all at once later!

Today we got some more wet wipes, nappie packets and the cutest thing ever - a little duck nail clipper!!

 Isn't that just the cutest thing ever - I could NOT resist!!

 Our drawers are busting....

 and our nappy stash is looking wonderful!! Thank you husband for understanding that planning like this makes my heart happy and makes me feel like i am preparing for our bundle of love!!

We were also advised to make a sign for baby's bed in hospital asking the nurses not to bottle feed or give baby a dummy.... the reason behind this is that if baby gets a dummy or bottle before he / she has successfully breast fed it will make it so difficult to breast feed later on!
We have nothing against bottles or dummies BUT we just want to make sure that we breast feed first.... I was worried this sign might come across cheeky BUT Barbara (our antenatal coach) informed us this is the best way to get this across. Mike made it look pretty and i think it will serve its purpose :)

8 - 10 more weeks till baby comes (EEEEEK).....

lazy Sunday...

We had an awesome weekend filled with errands getting done, friends, a nap and spending time with my mom and dad who are going away for three weeks soon.
Today was a perfect Sunday - we woke up, had some tea and went to church - we LOVE walking into smiling faces and warm welcomes!!! Our church family is the best!
We then stopped for thai food- nice and healthy and headed home for a quiet afternon!

 Shame - half way through the afternoon mike started feeling dizzy and got the worst headache - he really battles with sinus and he has an inner-ear thing that makes him dizzy!! A vicks neck rub, two degeran and a nap later he is feeling slightly better but not 100% yet!!
The pups were happy we stayed in this afternoon - they love napping when we nap!

 Love these mutts - i cant wait to see how they react to the baby! I think they are going to LOVE him /her!!
