8 years ago today...

8 years ago today Mike chose me as his wife, a privledge I cherish every day!
We have had our share of heartache in the past years but the love and joy has always far out weighed the heartache!
I adore the little life we have built together and cannot think of anyone more perfect to partner with!
To the best husband and dad I know - I love you! Thank you for choosing me!

Winter warmies...

Its getting chilly and Ollie doesnt keep a blanket on him at all..... so we have to resort to a fleecy onesie!

A little playtime after bath.... peering into his treasure chest!
He looks like a chubby little teddy :)

Depends on the day...

Oliver normally doesnt mind the car at all - he loves talking to himself and playing while we drive...
Lately he has a little tantrum every time we put him in this car seat... then a few seconds later he is happy again. With him getting older his resolve is growing, he is getting bullheaded and stubborn and our precious little angel is not always an angel anymore!
I quite honestly thought "my child will never have a tantrum" and "my child will never be naughty like that".... well well well - I was mistaken!!
This is the time when sticking to the discipline we have implemented from little is so hard - being consistent is key and NOT giving into to this little Mr. when we are tired and we feel we have fought our little fight over the same thing one too many times! We have had to be strict without going overboard and I personally have learnt that sometimes I have to be lenient and not sweat the small stuff.

I love this child with a love that I have never felt.... the desire for him to grow up to be a happy, respectful and GOOD child overwhelms me from time to time and I tend to forget that he is a child, he will be naughty, he will test boundaries and that is ok - he needs to learn to stand up for himself and fight for what he wants.... BUT he also has to learn that when mom and dad say no that it stays no!!
My goodness... the balance I feel we need to keep is quite tricky.... I go to bed smiling about his little developments and I go to bed worrying about why he was naughty and what if he is naughty with his day mom... and then I remember to pray and hand it all over to God and ask for wisdom in disciplining our precious child and loving him all at the same time!!

Yummy!

We are very blessed to have a little boy that likes his food!! I cant imagine fighting with a child every meal time....  Lolly is getting to that age where he wants to feed himeself so we feed him then give him the dishes and spoons so he can feed himself the leftovers.

Food everywhere but so much fun!

Selfies and babies dont often work out... this is the best we could do!

Kitchen reovations...

Our kitchen renovation is well under way much to our delight! We are VERY excited....
This is now what out patio looks like.... you win some, you loose some :)
We are also now bunking with my folks while they are working on the kitchen and the floors.... nice to be home again for a while... Like a little holiday!

Comrades marathon...

Yesterday was the comrades marathon. Liberty hosted a water table and Mike and I volunteered as helpers! We go to hillcrest early and saw the sunrise...
We saw all the runners come through, from the first to the very last! We spent the morning and afternoon on our feet handing out water, energade, biscuts, protein packed snacks, oranges and bananas.
We were kitted out in Liberty gear...
Lolly was looked after my folks - he LOVED it and my mom sent me pics through the day...
This was our Mr having breakfast - eating all on his own...

And him going down for his nap.... cuddling Jerry!
Love my parents for being able to babysit - and love Ollie for being easy enough to leave....
