My sous-chef...

My little sous-chef helped me make pizza on the weekend, and by that I mean he stole my rolling pin and ate raw dough after salting it :)
I think so soon I will spend an afternoon with this little guy and let him make a whole pizza on his own.....

He kept dropping his dough :)

Oliver loves helping and cooking - He will soon be baking and cooking with me!

Some days...

This morning was one of "those" mornings... my goodness! Coming off a perfect evening with our little one, no fuss at bedtime, a complete little pleasure - HOWEVER THIS MORNING was a different story - a complete meltdown for no apparent reason. Nothing we could do would calm him down - he threw his dummy at us and even hit me in the face - I lost it - I was so mad! I am NOT a fan of mornings like this at all, I take it personally and get so offended. I still have no idea what went down... honestly, not a clue! Then all of a sudden he switched and all was right with the world - a prompted "sorry daddy" and "sorry mommy" and his exponential meltdown was a thing of the past. I am still reeling as to what the heck happened!! Needless to say I had to unwind somehow before going to work so a tea and pinterest date was in order.

Luckily the little spot that Mike and I sometimes go to for a breakfast before work was open and I took 45 minutes to get my mind right before heading to work. It  was so needed and helpful! Some days.... sigh.

Friday relax...

On Friday Lolly went straight to my folks as he was sleeping over so I had the afternoon to myself... I made myself some coffee and then had a little nap - heaven!!

We then got all dressed up and was spoilt with a dinner out. We even went out for cocktails afterwards - just us, it was such a lovely evening with Mike!!

Oh my goodness, I have painted this kitchen dresser for the last time - I HOPE!
We got it and painted it white...

 Then pink....

 and now hopefully a beautiful rich green for a while!

I love that if you make a bad paint choice all you do is paint over it.... no stress! I used to be nervous about colour but I learnt that if if doesn't work out the first time just do it again... and again... until you get it right. I used up a audio book and an afternoon painting this one and its like therapy for me!

Saturday mornings...

I LOVE Saturday mornings with my boy.... Mike and I take turns sleeping and I can honestly say that I don't mind waking up to this face on the weekends! We normally just cuddle, especially now that its cold... I put the blankets on him and he says "nice and warm" in his little sleepy voice - floors me every time!

 Breakfast is always well received.... sometimes a little friend needs to accompany him....

 Lolly often asks about my hair clips... on this morning I showed him in his hair and took a picture to show him! He giggled, ripped it out and refused to put it back in to show Mike! What a boy!!

I treasure Saturday mornings with this child. Always!

BIG boy!

Our child is officially a big boy (nooooooo!!) he is now in his very own big boy bed! It used to be my brothers when they were little and now its Lolly's! It was hurled out of the ceiling so it just needed a good clean and paint - we chose a pale blue so it could match any bedding we find....

 Its perfect for the first stage as we just turned the bed so the open end faced the wall so Lolly doesn't fall out!

 We moved his little blue flower from his cot to his bed - that has been with him since he was born (I put it on his incubator in hospital) and he got a comforter with trucks on it... he was so excited about the trucks that I don't think he grasped the hugeness of now having his own bed (or is that more for me than for him?)

 This is him sleeping, it looks like daytime I know BUT its only because of the camera flash! There was no change in routine for this child, he slept through like normal, no issues!

I on the other hand was not so relaxed about this change, I look at my child in his bed and I just want to cry because he looks so big! No more daytime nappies and now his own bed?
I love this child so much, he has taught me so much about taking things in his stride and going with the flow, these lessons I seem to need to learn daily!

My happiness maker...

A mini dream of owning a coffee machine came true this week.... I could only find the combo I wanted from Yuppie chef (my most favorite online shopping store) and was so exited when it arrive, I may or may not have almost tackled the delivery man....

Machine and Areoccino found a home and settled in quickly....

 Oliver keeps saying "mommy coffee chine"

We are enjoying testing out the different pods we got with it and are slowly choosing our favorites! The one I made last night was perfect for my taste... hmmmmmm!!!! I am happy! My happiness maker is working :)
