My girl...

My girl has been sick on and off for a while - between teething, measles and now tonsillitis its been a tricky few weeks. Having said that she is such a little trooper and besides being more restless at night she has done so well!
The other day we got home, bathed and ate and I went to make lunches while the kids watched some Peppa Pig - I looked over and she had fallen over asleep on the couch... that's when I know she isn't right.

This girl has been such a joy in our lives, she is pure happiness and I we love her dearly. I do however see some drama in our future, girls got a temper! Love it!

Sunday...

We got home so late on Saturday night that we decided to skip church and have a home day - C Bear has been teething and we have since discovered she has tonsillitis so she hasn't been herself and Ollie is a bit grumpy when he is tired (I wonder who he takes after)
So we had a lazy morning and it was well needed - we would have really struggled with cranky kids had we not made the call to cancel other plans.

I have been learning more and more to listen to my instincts and trust my gut when it comes to things like cancelling plans or moving things around to accommodate our family. It is not always possible to say no and it is not always possible to cancel but the times that it is I feel its so worth it.
Mike and I both managed to go for a run too which helps body and mind so all in all it was a good day.

Date night...

Our date night this weekend was a different one than we have had in a while - we went to a wedding - for the first time in years. We enlisted the help of some good friends to babysit the kids (mom anxiety levels were a bit high but all turned out well) and off we went. We dressed up and it was really lovely witnessing the marriage of my friend and seeing her so happy! She looked so beautiful and you could feel the love - it was such a wonderful celebration.

Baker...

We love being Baker - with Ollie in such a big class this year we only get to be baker every 24 weeks so we wait in anticipation!
This time we (and by we I mean I ) decided to do something simple and easy that Ollie can do... he may or may not have lost interest after doing a few and consuming some sweeties so we just finished up. Flower s'mores....

I love how proud my boy was waking into class today!

Grateful...

I am very grateful for my family, I love these smiles and the joy they bring to our lives - life was so boring without them!

Charley's new favorite thing to do is dress herself in Mikes Undies... I cannot stop giggling when I see her roaming around the house kitted in underwear!

 Seeing these smiling faces makes all the "hard work" of parenting worth it!

Today, after a long night of C Bear vomiting (must be a bug as I now have an upset tummy too) I am grateful for my children and the privilege of being able to be awake looking after them as there are many people desperate to be pregnant and have children who are struggling...
Thank you Lord for my family!

Weekend treats...

This weekends treats were giant cookies and iced coffee - the giant cookies for Mike and the kids and our play date peeps and the iced coffee for me.

I love iced coffee and I finally found a way to make it just the way I like it - a worthy treat!

Hmmmm, Its almost weekend again - what will this weekends treats be?

Little shop keeper...

Yesterday morning at school Ollie was delighted to walk in and find a full shop set up for play. Now the rule of class is that if you haven’t finished your work from the day before you have to finish it in the morning before play – Ollie had finished his work and he eagerly ran to play the shop keeper... the funny thing is that none of the other children there at the time had finished their work so they couldn’t play - Ollie sat in that shop eagerly waiting one of his class mates to finish their work so he could play with them!

I am so proud of my boy for finishing his work the day before and for being so eager to play... I love watching Ollie play, it’s one of my greatest delights!
