baby sitting!

I am just waiting for our christmas pictures from my dad then i'll blog them... i left my camera at home so we used his but i havent had time to download them yet!

On Saturday afternoon we were asked to babysit for friends of ours when they went to the wedding so we spent a lovely chilled afternoon and evening with Jarryd, Jon, Mads and Manon!
Mike ate mac and cheese with boys... with a plastic plate and fork :)

of course there was some tv games that were played!! Mike loved this...

We got these delicious biscuit straw things as a thank you and polished them off!! My new favorite! I ate them while reading my kindle... afternoons like this i love!!

We then ordered pizza, watched some movies and eventually went home!

I love evenings like this!

Im missing my friends!!

Today for some reason i found myself missing my overseas friends LOTS!
I was in church and i was just reminded of the day we had to say goodbye to Jayde, Brennen and Jude and my heart ached!!
I began missing them so much!! Jayde you are the sister i never had and i miss you terribly! Brennen, if you were here i would totally make you coffee (he always used to moan at me about not making him coffee) and Jude, my precious godson, your 5th birthday is fast approaching and i cant believe its going to be the second one we wont be able to attend!!

Graham, Lisa, Dyl, Jason and Ethan we miss you so much too!! We miss our DVD evenings, our vetkoek dinners and our shopping trips!
Always when we go to Mr price i say to mike "lisa would love this" and "lisa would love that" and whenever we do something else to our house i miss the fact that we cant call you to show it off!! I miss having the boys over for sleep overs and pizza!!

We have lots of overseas friends and i find myself missing them so much, Dave and Paula, our family Jackie, Steve Ashleigh and Jarryd!!
WHY CANT WE ALL BE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR WEEK NIGHT DINNERS AND WEEKEND GET TOGETHERS!!

sigh.

A few things i cant dispute!

Oyster box.

A couple weeks ago mike and i got spoilt with an invitation to "oyster box" - a very fancy restaurant! The occasion was my cousins matric dance - she didn't want to go to her school one so her dad paid for her to invite a few friends (and cousins) and join her for this special occasion! Here are two pics i pulled off the internet...

Busy week!

Busy busy week - when family visit all our free time is spent with them which we love! We went out to eat last night (tooo much food this week) and then of course we went to wakaberry for some frozen yoghurt!!! Some family pics from our dinner out... Katelyn (who is now my sister whether she likes it or not) joined us too!!

Family dinner!

Bret, Abby and Wes are visiting from Capetown so they family came for dinner tonight!! Perfect opportunity to set our new table and do the chalkboard menu :)

Timmy isn't a huge fan of too much activity so he normally finds a lap to sit on and stays there! He found my moms lap and stayed there most of the night! Precious boy!!

Wes took to ryan so quickly it was really cute!! they were playing slap here and wes was wining!

after dinner mike made us all some tea in my gorgeous tea pots with some choccies in my heart shaped glass bowl!

we also added a few more fairy lights to our patio bars- LOVE em...

It was a really lovely evening!!

don't you love moments like this. there is not words to describe the peace and happiness in this picture - for mike or timmy :)

and also i found these sale items at mr price - R10 each (with my 20% discount - gotta love it!!)
The striped ones are dish towels for my kitchen, they brighten it up beautifully!! and the teal ones are place mats for our new table!

I love the teal on the hard wood table top and the white plates!

My brother, his wife and adopted child are vising this week from cape town - got lots to organize! They are all coming to us for dinner tomorrow night so let me get cracking!!
