Company...

Its been a really rough week!! Mikes mom is really not well, she has been battling cancer for over 2 years and it seems like she is finally loosing the fight. You never know what will happen and how this will turn out but our hearts have been hurting alot!
Mike has been at the hosptial every evening while I have stayed home with Oliver... When he is alseep Timmy is always there to keep my company.
He is able to sense hurting and always has.... and he always comes to cuddle when he knows I am stressed or sad. Just another way God looks after me!

A coffee fix...

Our precious Ollie has been a little sick / teething lately - we are not 100% sure which! He has been restless at night meaning I am awake more than I normally am meaning I wake up tired meaning I NEED COFFEE! I do exaggerate slightly - we are so used to Ollie sleeping right through that when he wakes up a few times a night it makes for a bad night!
On the way to work Mike stopped and got me coffee - good man!! The only place open at 6:30am is Mac D's so we had some Mac Cafe - delicious!

... and now I can begin my day.

Finally able to use this :)

I ordered this when Oliver was born, I like to be organised :) Almost 10 months later we are now able to use it and it was money well spent! I am not a germ freak by any means but I really love this for shopping....
This now has a home in the boot of my car, it will be well used!
(oh my goodness, Oliver looks so big in this picture!!)

Brush Brush...

With Lollys little teeth growing so beautifully we have started trying to teach him how to brush his teeth. At the moment  I dont know how much brushing we are actually doing but it takes time to learn new things!

He seems to like to chomp the toothbrush... I am hoping he will learn to BRUSH soon...

We LOVE teaching Oliver new things, I love that feeling of huge acomplishment when he finally gets something we are teaching him - he totally amazes me!!

Lollys wedding outfit!

How cute did our boy look for the wedding....
He did end up with no pants on, no tie on and shirt unbuttoned :) BUT he did arrive looking all dressed up!

CELEBRATIONS!!

Oh man we LOVED Ryan and Manu's wedding - what a stunning, wonderfull, happy day!!!
Our journey began on saterday when we flew to Cape Town, to be honest I was really nervous traveling with Oliver on a 2 hour plane trip. He has become so active I was scared he would be a nightmare - i took calming tablets and everything..... BUT as is the norm with this child he was an absoute pleasure and the flight to cape town went without a hitch!! He got all dressed up for the flight - he was wearing his BIG shoes - they are quite special to me because these were the shoes I bought the day I found out I was pregnant (I bought a boys pair and a girls pair) to put in a gift bag and give to my parents as a gift.... when my mom opened it she was like "what?... I dont understand...." - she was so confused - but my dad was like "YOU ARE PREGNANT"... so when I put these on him I was all nastolgic for that day! They finally fit him... our big boy!!!
For the flight we got Oliver some snacks to keep him company and for the first time he had a stick of biltong....

Despite the look on his face he really enjoyed it!!

My folks fetched us and Mike and Ollie went to sleep over at the amazing accomodation they booked - I had the super priviledge of spending the night with Manu the night before she married my brother.... i LOVED meeting her family and spending the night and then morning getting ready with her! I got the chance to finally meet her sister Maria, Brother-in-law Wayne and niece Rebecca in person - what a treat!!! (maria please forgive me for stealing a pic from your blog!!)
I have many good things to say about this family BUT the thing that stood out the most is what amazing parents they are - I hope they will share their wisdom with us in the coming months and years!!

Manu was a super chilled bride, glowing, stunning and so in love!!
(again Maria, so sorry for stealing some these pics from your blog! I had no time to take any pictures at the wedding)

It was a beautiful wedding!!!!
They are now honeymooning from Cape Town to durban and I cannot wait to see them when they get back! It amazes me that 7 months ago there was no hint of a new sister or family... and now we have both!

...and away we go...

Tonight we are packing for Cape Town, we are off to Ryan and Manu's wedding!
Lots of excitement and packing and cleaning and packing! I am a bit nervous for a 2 hour flight with a 9month old but hey, it is what it is! Hope he behaves himself :)
Next time I blog Manu will offically be my sister - happy days :)

Washing basket bath....

Yes yes, much to some of our friends confusion, we bath Oliver in a washing basket! As strange as it may seem it works!!
His toys stay close, he doesnt slip and side around the bath AND it keeps him away from pulling out the plug every few seconds :) Its the prefect solution to bathtime!

Sleepy boy....

I LOVE waking up with Oliver in the morning.... he lies in his cot and calls us when he wakes up! He can quite happily talk to himself for 45min to and hour before he starts to moan at us to come and get him and when I walk into his room he beams at me. This is love!!
I just love his sleepy little face....

I just smooch this child when he wakes up! I cant help it!!! Hes too sleepy to fight me.... its the perfect time!

Ollies first bit of post....

I was very excited to see my son had a letter in the post the other day... we opened a savings account for Ollie when he was born and belive it or not his first bit of post was a bank statement :)
Anyone who knows me will find that ironic!!
Ollie then of course hijacked all our other post.... we got two precious christmas cards from our special friends overseas (thanks guys) and Oliver proceeded to EAT them!

Who knew a christmas card was so yummy...
k

Thanks friends for understanding that the hard earned money you spent on our christmas cards was just eaten up by a little monster!!

Double cuteness!!

On saterday we went to visit these two cuties!! Zoey and Rachel are three and a half months old and doing so well! I have the HUGEST respect for Kims and Ross - having one baby is tough in the beggining but having two.... sheeeesh! and they are doing so well! The girls are fat and flourishing....
... life with twins is a whole new ball game :)
I so look forward to seeing these cuties grow up and become little people....

Jail Break.....

Oliver is now moving around so much now.... on saterday morning I just sat and watched him explore our house while he crawled around looking in every room :)
He then tried to jail break the hell out of our lounge... he just made me laugh!!

Holly did however manage to escape and Ollie was so upset that she didnt take him with her that he wouldnt let her back in :)

I had to distract him quick and she "escaped" back in!!
Dam it I love this kid!!!

Birthday visit...

Yup I am way behind with my pictures - I mean, I havent even posted christmas pics yet... all in good time! On my birthday we all went to visit Mikes folks for tea, I LOVE that both familys can get together for special occations - we dont have to split them in half....

With mom being so sick we dont get to see them as often as we would like BUT ollie grins at them when he sees them everytime! He knows they are special people...

 Uncle Ryno and Lolly.....
Lolly playing happily on his donut....

and our little family picture...
This picture made me get up and join a gym AND eat better.... I am making headway so its all good.... sometimes you just need the motivation hey!
