Worker...

Will our boy be a manual worker...
He loves tools and fixing anything and everything!!!
Only time will tell....

Some days....

Some days are made for cuddles...
Some days we don't want to leave wormy and blanky at home...
Some days he just wants to rest his head on my leg while enjoying some pooh bear...
Some days he needs a little extra time to wake up, even dragging him into our bed while we get dressed isn't enough time!
I love these days and I hope they last forever!!

Sick days...

On Thursday afternoon our boy got a fever... after some meds and many hours his fever didn't go down and I started to worry. We decided to take Lolly to the emergency rooms so close to 2am we set off. All the way there we told him the doctor will see him and make him better....
He was a little star when we arrived, they took his temperature, weighed him and gave him a suppository which brought his temperature right down! The doctor came in he look in Lolly's ears and throat and while the doctor was examining him he kept saying "doctor better, doctor better" - he was SO good. The nurses were doting on him and saying he's so good which made my heart so happy! We got home and put Lolly to bed and we got some sleep. On Friday I stayed home with Lolly and our day looked like this -
Tired faces and pj's all day. Lolly was taking his temperature - he couldn't reach under his arm so he stuck it in his neck :)
Watching some pooh bear...
 Lots of quiet play time....

He gets a little clingy when he is sick but he isn't really a cuddler so this was him needing me - just resting his food on my leg while he sat...
and his nap was filled with all his friends - this was on Sunday - by then he was all better and he slept like a dream!
Despite it being a tiring day on Friday I loved the day spent with my boy...

Now and then....

Now and then - it seemed the "now" would never come when Lolly was so little and so helpless but the "now" is here and it seems that the "then" never happened.... or happened a lifetime ago!
There are so many things I learned from having this little bundle of joy (and nerves and anxiety and sleep deprivation and worry) and I am praying so hard that if and when we have another baby I will leave all the crippling expectations behind and enjoy the slow mornings, the quite feeds, the soothing of a little helpless baby and that smell of baby that all mothers know... I will start praying now for when that time comes for it to be different from how things went with Lolly. Battling post natal depression  is something I never want to re-live and that fear grips me when I think of having another baby. My prayers is that it won't steal anything from me again and that I have learnt enough and know better now so the second time around will be redemption for me.

Splish Splash....

I know I post alot of pictures of our Lolly in the bath but oh man he loves bathtime!!

Our happy place - from time to time either Mike or I jump in the bath with Lolly and enjoy  half an hour of warm water, bubbles and lots of playtime!

When with daddy...

On Saturday Mike took Lolly the shop so I could prepare lunch for our lunch guests...  When with daddy this is what happens... Lolly got to eat bananas in the shopping cart...
My boys also stopped and got me a coffee from Wimpy - they know my heart!!
I love these boys so so much.... never in my life could I have imagined my life and the joy that surrounds these two guys - thank you Lord for the love of my two boys!!

Weekend nesting...

At the moment I am in nesting mode... I just love pottering around our home and trying to make it beautiful on a very limited budget and so far we have had lots of fun doing so!
Our bedroom has been bare since we moved it, we bought bedding and not much else... now 7 years later (how has it been that long) our bedroom is finally starting to feel finished! Mike made the most amazing bedside hangings that house our bedside lamps and a box frame to live under that for our phones / alarm clock etc.... that sparked the rest of the room decor. We moved our old grocery cupboard into our bedroom and finally I now have space for my precious books... the green also suits our room perfectly! Oliver came in straight away and wanted to see what I had put in this cupboard - I think he was checking to see if i was hiding any sweeties in there :)

I have seen polka dots in walls before and priced the wall art which is SO expensive.... I had the brain wave to go to a stationary shop and see if they have any there and they did - Perfect sizes and everything!! These, if you look at them closely are actually stars but from far they look just like dots.... I love it!! Finishes this space perfectly!!

We chose to use the dots in the kitchen as well but smaller for our one corner and it works beautifully as the light just seems to hit them right and add a little shimmer! I had to laugh when Mike said to me "babes, I wasn't sure about these dots but I really do like them" I love how he lets me try things even when everything inside of his mind says NO! Mike is a very by the book, in the box kind of thinker so gold dots on a wall didn't settle well in his mind - luckily I am brave enough to try (and fail) and this was a success!
We also finally got a blind for our kitchen window - I tried to pretty up the window by hanging hearts and birdies and we made do for a while as we couldn't afford a blind....
We walked into Game a few weeks ago to just price a blind so we know what we are saving towards and guess what - they were having a HUGE discount and we were able to afford it.... happy days!!
I am loving our little humble home... all I need is just to clean our and organize it better and my heart will be content! Being organised is my main priority at the moment... hopefully soon I will blog that I have officially organised my life and move onto something else constructive (I do however feel this may take some time still....)

Horsies...

My boy is in love with horsies.... we went to a party a little while ago and he was too scared to ride the horse but he did give it a few loves!

He now says "horsie" and blows bubbles on our arms (like the sound that a horse makes) - too sweet!

Mothers day...

Mothers day was filled with good food, a gift of warmth from my boys, a sleep in, a coffee stop before church to fill up my travel mug with my favorite coffee and enjoying the simple joys of being a momma.... we do celebrations simply and that I love.., it was just another day brought on by a pressie and more hugs and cuddles than normal!!
I love this kid, he made me a mommy and for that I am forever grateful!

Treat...

We have enjoying a few little treats with Lolly lately now that he can enjoy them, ice creams being one of them. This was the first time he got a smiley face ice cream and he was so chuffed about it.

The one and only thing I craved during my pregnancy was ice cream.... I see it was Oliver after all who wanted some :)

We fed the ducks...

We ate ham and cheese rolls....
And there were lots of smiles!!

I managed a couple of pages of my book...
