Weekend fun....

This weekend was a good one mostly because we didn't fill up our weekend and we had lots of just us time which is always needed.

We went to bed on Sunday night feeling refreshed and ready for a busy work week... its weekends like this that make all the difference.

A few months of sickness...

This last few months have been tough regarding sickness in our home. We thought it was just one of those seasons where it feels like everyone is sick for months on end but now we know the real reason.

Just over 4 months ago we were invited to a party at some reserve with rock pools, we went, the kids enjoyed it and then in the weeks that followed Ollie got sick. We went to the Dr for his cough and it would clear up a for a week and then it would resurface... this went on for months. Mike also got sick often and lost weight which we just thought it might be work stress. Turns out both Mike and Ollie has Bhalazia! The water was contaminated (even though we were assured it was completely safe) and both Mike and Ollie contracted Bhalazia. Lucky Charley was super small so we stayed away from the water so we are both good....

The funny (or not so funny thing) is that poor Mike got tick bite fever AND broke his toe at the same party and now it turns out he has Bhalazia too – comes in threes they say.

The worst part of this whole thing is that Ollie had to have a blood test, I refused to take him because I would have just cried the whole time so Mike braved it and they managed.

We are just happy that we now know what that problem was and we can fix it.

His and Hers

This is a view of our dinner - His and Hers.
Mike gets the steak and potatoes and I get the minute steak, cabbage and small melba (with an apple for pudding). My eating plan has been working wonders and I am so happy with the result so far - I try and not limit Mikes foods so I have been trying to cook him is favorites too.

 I have also been taking some vitamins to help the process....

So far so good!

Sharing an apple

Charley LOVES apples, I have an apple at lunch and dinner as part of my eating plan and she loves to share with me!

I fee l like this child is going to steal my food any chance she gets....

A Ray of sunshine...

Last week mom and dad rescued us and took the kids for one night so Mike and I could have some time just the two of us. We have had coughing kids for so long (I will explain later) that I was starting to go a bit mad and this night away was SO needed.

We spent the Thursday night at Kingfisher lodge which is close to work so no traffic at all the next day, we went out for dinner, strolled around gateway holding hands and just had some undivided us time – it was such a ray of sunshine to me!

I love Mike to bits and I often miss time with him.

It felt like a mini honeymoon!

Weekend mornings...

Aftercare program

Ollie is enjoying the aftercare program during the school holidays, they make such an effort to keep the kids entertained!

Boys being boys...

My son was fully DELIGHTED to see laser tag at Pavilion... him and Mike went in to look (I was shopping with Charley) He came to tell me that he has to show me something so we all went to have a look. I honestly though he might be a bit scared because it was dark and dingy inside where they play but he was fascinated. He tried on the gun which was heavy and the vest and we decided to let the boys be boys and have a 10min session at laser tag! Ollie loved it but the gun was really heavy and he had to take a little break every few minutes.

I just love this boy and his daddy so so much!

Winter beach day....

You have got to love our winter - this was a perfect winters day at the beach!

Charley fell asleep on the way to the beach so we all just waited a bit for her to get her rest in... Ollie was such a cute little monkey and kept us entertained. He really is such a beautiful big brother!

We met our besties there and Ollie was in his element.... hanging with the big boys.

 Charley loved the beach and dipping her feet in the water - he had a lovely mouth full of sand which I was just too slow to stop...

 We also bumped into Ollies favorite friend from school....

On the way home Ollie said to me "mom, I want to stay at the beach forever!!"....
