Christmas eve!!

Aaaahhhh Christmas eve already! AWESOME!! As is our tradition we ordered two christmas dvds.....

 We watched "its a wonderful life" last night and LOVED it...

 and tonight we are watching Home alone!!

 We also decided we wanted some "vetkoek" and mince for dinner....

 while i was getting dinner sorted out Mike was playing with our christmas present - we got ourselves a little video camera for when baby comes and also to just have some fun with and make some awesome home videos.... we made a couple of little video clips and sent them to friends :) LOVE it, so much fun so far!!

 all the while with this CD blaring - makes me happy!!

 Ryan popped in for dinner and home alone.... love quiet christmas eves :)

as is our tradition too we always get a nice cereal for Christmas morning! We are relatively healthy mostly so chocolate cereal is a real treat!!! Something to look forward to make up and eating in bed!!

Ohhhh the sooner we go to bed the sooner we wake up on christmas morning!! AWESOME!!
Only one more sleep!!!!

Cupcakes!

On friday night we went to debs and Alan for a christmasy dinner, i offered to take some pudding and cupcakes were it! I made chocolate cupcakes....

 and then filled them with chocolate moose and caramel!

 Ella Rose helped me ice them with fresh cream and decorate them!!!

 They really were delicious!!!!

For my birthday my mom got me this awesome old tray and we hung it right above the stove so when i cook and bake i have something lovely to look at! I LOVE It!!!

Tis the season.....

Friday...

On friday Mike got off work early as it was his last day of work - he is now on leave and I am a happy woman!! For this birthday he ordered a new barrel for his paintball gun and it arrived on friday... we took a lunch detour before stopping to getch it and our lunch started with the most delicious calamari starter ever! The place we got it was take away only so we just chomped it in the car - was fun!!

 Then to share a pizza which was lovely!

 I loved the festive serviettes!

 Mike was a happy man when he got this....

 and then spent over and hour putting it together :) the Ipad was propped up with instructions and eventually he got it right!

The boys played paintball on Saturday and loved it!!

while the boys were at paintball I went to my folks for a swim and took the pups with me - holly fell in again and was all bummed BUT she looks so cute wet!!

Made me laugh! Shame!!!

Christmas braai...

Last night we had a christmas braai at Ryan's, we got together and braai sandwiches and swapped presents! we each drew a name out of a hat and bought for that person!

 I pretended to braai for a while but it was too hot... Ryan did all the braaing!

 The sandwiches were so delicious, cheese, tomato, onion, ham and tomato!! DELISH!

 After dinner was pressie time!!!!

 Mike bought for me  - he got me a kindle book voucher which I was over the moon about - going to order another "jack reacher" book as i am nearly done with my other one!

 And kate bought for mike....

 He got biltong and chocolates!

 What a lovely evening - we were all do full from the sarmies we didn't even eat pudding!

Too exciting...

When I was little all i did was listen to story tapes and read.... i LOVED my story tapes, listened to them over and over and over again - seriouly!!!
Mike and i went browsing the other day and found these awesome books with a CD attached that tells the story as you read along - i was TOOOO excited and we listened to them on the way home!!

 The little mermaid was Ryan's favorite movie when we were little and we even went to watch the movie in cinema for his birthday...

The Winnie the pooh one i had on tape when i was little... exactly the same!!!! I was so happy to hear it... there is a song about tigger bouncing... 
I cannot wait to read listen to these with my baby - over and over again I'm sure!!

My favorites birthday!

It was Mikes birthday yesterday.... my precious boy turned a year older and we had little celebration before he left for work!
As we always do we woke up and opened pressies in bed - mike desperately wanted some goodies for his paintball gun so he got some cash to put towards a new barrel and a few other things.... he was happy!!!

 I made mike a birthday cake - first carrot cake i have ever made and man it was good!! So that is why there are so many pics, we were both proud of this cake!!

 Yes, mike is a bit older than 4 BUT there wasn't space for all the candles needed to represent his age - so 4 it was!

I also baked for mike to take some goodies to work!!

 Mikes favorite is quiche so I made two butternut bakes and also two cremora tarts for pudding! I was happy when the bowls came back empty!!

 And I also just sent some christmas pressies to his colleges! A reindeer coke each and also just a shortbread box!

 Happy birthday my angel, you are my most favorite person in the whole world!!
