Easter Sunday!

Jesus is alive.
Thank you God for giving your son Jesus for ME!
I was given the rather daunting task of giving the Easter story to our grade 2 - 4's in our kids min class today... I had a few panic attacks as this is such a relevant story to our faith and in my heart I really wanted to get it across to the children of what Jesus really did for us! I am happy to say that it all went well and the kids were very receptive - they knew the story all to well so trying to make it relevant to them was the hard part....One things stuck out to me and this is something that we spoke on last week...

What a lovely church service this evening too just solidifying the heart of the Jesus I serve!
As part of the occasion after church in the coffee area we had some musicians just jamming in the background- a cafe evening of sorts as a celebration of the meaning of today! Mike and I were treated to some hot-cross buns and a cuppachino and stayed to enjoy the vibe!!

Our evening is ending with a movie camp out in the lounge (one of our favorite things to do) and plan on waking up late and having a lovely lazy Monday - yay for public holidays!!

What a lovely weekend so far... I have lots more to blog but our movie awaits - I'll catch up soon!

Spagetti bread!!

We had Debs and Alan over for dinner last night and I decided to try something new for dinner - spaghetti bread!! I saw it on "pinterest" and last night was the time to try it!!! I am very happy to say it was DELICIOUS and a huge success.... this is how my kitchen always looks when I cook or bake - mike says I use every utensil I have when I could and should just use the same spoon more than twice :) My way is to make a HUGE mess and when all the cooking is done I clean up - mike cooks and cleans up at the same time.... just shows - opposites attract. Back to the spaghetti bread -
It all starts with some dough....

 add your cooked and already mixed spaghetti, add cheese to the top if you want and some spices...

 Make some cuts- ok its suppose to look plaited but mine DID NOT!!!

I kinda just folded it up, added some spices and a little bit of cheese...

 and oh yes...... bake for about 35 minutes and done!!!!! They were so so good - i thought they might be too heavy and like carbo loaded but they weren't at all! a new favorite in our home!

 I made sweet potato and salad with it, a very good combination!

Mike decorated the chalk board for our special guests!!

 I used my new place mats (love them!)

 I also decided to get a whole bunch of individual drinks so we could choose what we want... was quite cool actually! a bit more expensive than buying two large drinks but I love doing this!

 and some lemon water.

 I had to more these things from our dining room table - actually really like them here so this might be their new home :)

 I was lazy with pudding - custard cups, smarties and nut chocolate!!!

I love nothing more than sharing a meal with friends... LOVED last night and look forward to many many more chilled dinner evenings!!

So unfair!!

This is what the pups and mike were doing while I was at gym killing myself this morning!! I had a 6am class so I woke up at 5am, let the pups in and when I was finished gyming and was just about to get into the shower at gym mike sent me this picture....

SO UNFAIR hey....

and this was me taking a picture of the pups to send to Mike saying we were missing him! Holly was asking me "Wheres dad huh??"...

 Dinner guests tonight... i"ll show you tomorrow all about what was on the menu for our special guests!!

Dinner for two!

There was rejoicing in our home last night when I made my precious husband and I dinner - you see last week I was so into reading my Hunger Games trilogy that I chose to read instead of cook (no jokes) -oooooops not a good wife I know but we're ok with it! Now that my lovely books are finished (sigh) I decided it was time to cook once again! We had a craving for pasta so I made us a bacon and mushroom pasta!

 Looks good hey!!!

Mike was so happy :) the best part is that it was made with fat free pasta and the homemade mushroom sauce was made with fat free milk so it was super duper healthy!!
Yay for taking the time to cook for mike and yay for it turning out perfectly!! I of course made too much so we had for lunch as well...

Baby sitting fun!

The boys came to us on Saturday cause Ruthie and Jurgens went to a function for the day... we LOVE having the boys cause they are so much fun!!! Jarryd came to us first cause Jon was at a party so we got to spend some time chilling with him then we went to fetch Jon from Mc Donalds where his party was... we of course stayed for an ice-cream so they boys could play a bit together and back home we came!
Jarryd LOVES the doggies and spent most of his time playing with them...

Jon and mike played x-box (of course they did)....

 Jon was too into the game!!

 Indiana Jones was the game of the day - I dig it man!

 After playtime we cuddle up and watched Shrek 2....

Ruthie and Jurgens were home in time for dinner so they pulled in for some hotdogs.. we had some chilled dinner and some lovely conversation!!

As a thank you for looking after the boys mike got a choccie and i got this cute pair of socks!!! Love them... and the best part it was cold enough to wear them yesterday!!

Holly was wondering how the duckies came into HER home!! Very cute!

and so the week continues...

City celebration!

A few weeks ago we went to a city celebration - its when all the churches in our area and that we are affiliated with get together for an evening together - we ALWAYS look forward to these because they are always so relevant!! There was a HUGE worship band which made worship amazing.... I love worship and on this night when I closed my eyes I could feel the songs and the words in my soul!... very inspiring! The message was all about victories in God and how when died for us he said "sin / self loathing / greed (place any other word in there that you struggle with) you have bullied my people too long" and then he died to take those things away - a victory in God!
For me I have days and weeks when I feel severely beat up... mostly by myself... and this takes me to a place that I cant crawl out of myself - when i fall on my knees and give these things up that is a victory in God. When I speak wisdom into someones life (that seems to come from no where) that is a victory in God, when I am teaching at Kids min and I seem to have extra patience for the naughty few kids that is a victory in God.... and the list goes on!! I always feel that i am not doing enough, feeling enough, making a difference when the most important thing to remember is to look for the small victories in God and go from there!!!

Getting together as a group of believers give you confidence to go into the things God is calling you to - its so awesome!
