Mozam 1.

Thursday was "youth day" so it was a holiday, mike and i took Friday off and went to Mozambique with alot of my moms family and it was amazing!!! Let me just say this will have to be blogged in parts as it will take me all day to fully blog this trip - and im tired already!!
This is the first time mike and i have gotten stamps in our passports so we were excited... the only thing is that we left at 3am Thursday morning to reach the boarder as it opened! Madness i tell ya! The worst part of leaving for any trip is packing... i really don't enjoy it! and poor Timmy always gets unsettled when he sees our bags come out of the cupboard!! a few must haves on a trip is slippers, a good book, sunglasses, snacks of course and a pillow for the car trip!!
The mozam boarder is about 5 hours drive from home so that is why we left so early - we did get to see an amazing sunset so that made us happy!! The roads were a bit busy but nothing too hectic! We stopped for some coffee and hot chocolate along the way (best part of a road trip)
We arrived at the boarder at about 8ish and then waiting in a loooong queue - seems everyone had the same idea as us about getting there as it opens... but it didnt take too long actually to make our way to the front of the queue.
At the boarder my dad fetched us cause you need a 4x4 to get through the sandy roads, they had left on Wednesday so they were there already.... the roads were super sandy and super bumpy and i then understood why you need a 4x4 to get there!
The weather was amazing they whole weekend - day two was a little bit windy but sunny and bright!! The day we got there i wasn't keen to put on my cosy and swin so we just went to the beach and soaked up the sun.... hhhmmmmm!! So good!!
Mike played a bit of beach cricket with the guys...
i sat and lay in the sun.. i think i even had a nap!! What a life!
We went back up for lunch.... had some chill time and relaxed some more! Me and my moms.
In the evening before dinner Aunty Linda organized a little game of "money or the box" - this being a family reunion and all she had to make it fun! She had filled some bags with pressies and if you answered a question right you got to choose a bag and then decide if you want to keep the bag or take the money she offered (like R10 or R25) - it was so much fun!! Mike answered one of the first question seeing as he is Mr. General knowledge...
This was the view from the eating area... what a lovely place!!!
A good day all around!! and was day 1!
